EVFTA, the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, is a comprehensive agreement that eliminates almost all tariffs between the European Union and Vietnam to promote trade and investment.

• Tariff Reduction: The agreement will phase out nearly all customs duties between the EU and Vietnam. As of the agreement's entry into force, about 65% of EU exports to Vietnam and 71% of EU imports from Vietnam became tariff-free. The remaining tariffs will be phased out over the following years. 

• Market Access: It provides for greater market access for EU service providers and includes a "Most-Favoured Nation" clause. It also opens up public procurement markets. 

• Intellectual Property: The agreement protects intellectual property rights, including geographical indications for specific regional products.
